Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky – The Project of a Century

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky is one of the most important and most frequently performed composers of international standing. Since 1993 Schott Music has made great efforts to realize the publication of his complete works with Russian partners. After the first volumes were published, the work was suspended to expand the cooperation and include all relevant Russian institutes on the editorial board. This collaboration has now resulted in a close German-Russian cooperation agreement which receives full moral and financial support from the Russian state.

The new Academic Edition of the Complete Works is a continuation of the previous efforts to publish a modern scientific complete edition. It is published in Russian and English.

The two leading publishing houses MPI Music Production International (Chelyabinsk) and Schott Music Publishers (Mainz)  are very happy that the work on the Academic Edition of the Complete Works by P.I. Tchaikovsky has now begun. Comprising about 120 volumes, this edition will be a big undertaking. The first volumes will be published in 2018.

„We are pleased to announce the continuation of the edition of Tchaikovsky’s complete works in time for the 25th annual conference of the international Tchaikovsky Society. This close and trusting cooperation will guarantee the successful execution of this project for the benefit of international music research and performance practice”, said music publisher Dr. Peter Hanser-Strecker.
